It's a Black-tip Sunday!

It was a pretty normal Sunday morning in the House of Saund. Mrs. Saund was watching TV, the Saundlings were entertaining themselves, and I was enjoying yesterday's midafternoon (Thank you time differences) in Azeroth.  I happened to be on my hunter, who is currently based in Dal, and at 7:50am happened to wander near the fishing fountain. Seeing a certain Elder standing there jogged my memory.

I have tried on and off to win the fishing derby since it first started, and I figured I had just enough time.  I quickly logged over, and hollered in trade for a mage, offering a tip large enough to ensure that I actually got a response, and one quick smart.  Ported to Dal, and onto my flying horse, I mashed the crusader aura button and was off to the wilds of Howling Fjord. I carefully equipped my ring to enable me to get back to Dal in a hurry, and got into HF just as the Elder yelled that the derby had begun.

There are still plenty of people on Shadow Council that want to win, as I came across at least three today. I was rapidly adding to my stash of junk in my bags, and getting rather disillusioned as tends to happen about 2.07pm server time, which experience tells me is about when it usually goes off. Then, into my bags, appears the shark.  I frantically hit my ring and watched as the agonising seconds tick by as the loading bar crawled towards completion. It paused and I was sure that I would pop out into Dal with the Elder yelling the name of the most recent winner. He hadn't, and I started to hope. I jumped on my horse and flew towards him, clicked frantically, and selected the ring (of course). I completed the quest, and the achievement popped. Master Angler of Azeroth. Yee Har.

I may or may not have actually leaped out of my chair, pumped my fist, and said in a rather un-Sunday-morningish voice. YES! FINALLY. I WON. The kids have watched with amusement my antics in trying to catch a virtual fish in a virtual fishing contest in a virtual world , and they understood at least a portion of what I was feeling. Mrs. Saund on the other hand, just wanted to know what the noise was all about.

I must say, that really made my day a lot brighter. Sad, isn't it!
